Dear Earth, I surrender.
On 15th July 2020 by SatyaI surrender to not knowing how much longer you will support the human race before shrugging us off.
I surrender to not being your sole heroic saviour.
I surrender to my ordinary life with all its caramel brownies and sore backs, warm bright words from friends and what’s-the-point dragging afternoons.
I surrender to the small actions that feel good – organising a prayer vigil for you during the rebellion, caring for the temple garden, responding whenever I can to whatever is here with kindness.
I surrender the results of my actions, and of everyone else’s – that’s not my business.
I surrender to the beauty of your frilled skirt purple-veined kale, your tree-jewelled hills draped in muslin mist, the roaring yellow of a single dandelion in the lawn.
I surrender to your song, which heals me as it enters me. Right now your leaves are saying shhhhhhhhhhhh…….
Much love, Satya <3
