Dear Earth, maybe humans really are on their way out.
On 25th June 2020 by SatyaOur government isn’t on track to meet their own 2050 carbon targets, which are woefully inadequate to begin with. The Arctic is boiling. The rainforests are being razed. Greed, hate and delusion swirl in us all.
More and more, I’m including the possibility that we have entered a terminal phase of our life-span. That it is too late to turn the humanity-ship around.
This morning we walked through the heat to deliver a letter to our MP. When someone is dying, you don’t stop helping them to come to terms with their reality. You don’t stop feeding them blueberries, or giving them medicine for their pain. You don’t stop laughing with them.
Will our letters make any difference? I don’t know, and it’s not my business to know.
It feels good to take action. It’s an act of love for you, sweet Earth. We do what small things we can – all of us – and then the results are out of our hands.
If we really are going? I’ll be suffering’s witness. I’ll taste your ripe fruits. I’ll leave you with as many offerings as I can.
Love, Satya <3
